When was the last time you revisited your genuine internal gauge about how you felt about getting paid for what you’re worth?  Was it at a 10 or way down at 1 or zero!

I just finished another heart-felt session with my group of 8 in a special program that offers strategies and experiential exercises about how to take better care of yourself in stressful situations, and we got into some pretty emotional stuff!

I have permission to share a special moment moving energy that was life-changing! Here’s your chance to see just how energy works.

How to Move Energy
Even though it seems pretty straightforward, we need to hear it every now and then:  "When your own needs are taken care of, you’re stronger, more productive and can cope better in stressful situations."

The better you feel, the better equipped you are to be the best you can be at work and at home.  This is especially important when caring for a loved one who is not only draining you physically, but emotionally, financially and every which way but loose!  I think you know what I mean.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t require a total lifestyle overhaul, although sometimes it feels like that’s the only solution.

The truth is, even small things can lift your mood, increase your energy, and improve your focus.

Last night my client made an energetic shift that literally changed her life’s outlook!

Up to then, she was fretting a lot about their financial situation because her husband’s needs were drying up the savings reserves.

We talked about her working more. And everyone was in agreement, that working more could be adding stress because then she wouldn’t be available for him as much.  Good points and bad.

Then the brain storming came to working for greater income, with less or at least the same amount of time spent.

Well – you should have heard the gulp!  No it was more of a gasp!

My client admitted, probably for the first time ever, that she felt a low, churning, heavy sense of shame in permeating her belly.

Ahhh. We found where her energy was stuck.

With a bit more coaxing, she revisited the heaviness and realized that the shame was carried over from early in her life that she was not supposed to want more money, or things or abundance of any type!

She was raised to believe that her talents and contributions to others was reward in itself – and that not to expect any sort of return for her efforts.

So when as a child, she desired a career, a dress, money for a movie and any form of reward for doing chores or studying hard, she was made to feel ashamed for asking!  Her parents operated in lack and any extras were to be doled for the family and not for her.

I think you know where this is going.

As a result of that energetic stuckness, each time she did something good, worked harder than anyone, took care of her parents, children and husband, she had a stomach ache.

She also had a heart ache that she couldn’t pinpoint.

The realization came when she recognized that each time she wanted an increase in wages, or to spend something more on herself for all her effort, she felt this heavy shame.

That energy was trapped in her belly.

Just knowing your limiting beliefs isn't enough!  You absolutely must shift the energy that is associated with the belief to experience the ultimate shift!

So I helped her move it out, released the tension and as much as the shift occurred physically for her, her mental shift was sparkling!

She now realizes that abundance is a true right and gift for her. And that she deserves to earn more money for the effort she puts into life!

With the actual energetic shift, she no longer feels ashamed to want a raise or more time or even allowing genuine appreciation for her efforts!

Wow – we all could just see the lightness and energy shift she made.

Now that’s what energy shift is all about!

You can move trapped energy whether you are aware of it or not.

Make a bit of exercise a priority.  Walk, swim, yoga, and other exercise classes.

Make external as well as the internal YOU a priority.

And as a direct result, you`ll make great progress in allowing more wonderful things to come into your life!

Here`s a couple more small ways to take care of yourself:

Make food choices that keep you stronger
Low blood sugar can make you feel anxious and irritable, while eating too much can make you lethargic. By eating small but frequent meals throughout the day, you can help your body maintain an even level of blood sugar and avoid these swings in mood.

Get enough sleep
Too little sleep can result in poor concentration, irritability and leave you vulnerable to stress.  When you're well-rested, it's much easier to keep your emotional balance at work and in your personal life.
